Eating For Abundance

When we follow an eating strategy or health plan that is restrictive, we often find ourselves feeling like we’re missing out.

A client recently told me that she’s been so good with her eating, but feels like she’s different from her friends now and is missing out on certain foods when she spends time with them.

I know I’ve certainly felt this way over the years and what has helped me is to change my mindset by focusing on all the benefits I experience while eating nourishing healthy foods, rather than what I am missing.

It’s about moving our mindset from scarcity to abundance.

Because there is an absolute abundance of nourishing fresh wholefoods and amazing companies making healthier alternatives for us to choose from.

We are bombarded with processed food options; we only need to go into the supermarket to see the difference in the size of the fresh food section compared to the packaged food aisles. Even the so-called gluten free “healthy" section needs to be navigated very carefully for healthier alternatives.

Is it any wonder that we feel like we’re missing out!

But when we choose to focus on the fresh wholefoods to eat there are so many options and so many great recipes to use them in.

And if we think eating healthy is difficult then we just have to think about how we would feel eating a lot of sugary treats and processed foods. Tired, moody, bloated, aching joints, and flare-ups of existing health conditions.

So, how are we missing out when we’re actually experiencing more pain and suffering?

My perception of eating nourishing fresh foods is that I’m gaining an abundance of health.

We’re also gaining energy, vitality, feeling better about ourselves and moving around with ease.

I said to my client, “When you get out of bed in the morning, and you feel energised with no aches, do your friends wake up feeling the same way?”

“NO,” she replied, “They’re waking up tired with aching joints and no motivation.”

And that says it all…

So, we get to decide between feeling like we’re missing out on sugary treats and processed foods that leave us feeling less than our best or missing out on pain and health issues by eating nourishing fresh wholefoods and gaining health and happiness.

The choice is ours.
